Over the last few weeks we have been reading Shadow Forest by Matt Haig.
The children have thoroughly enjoyed following the story of Samuel Blink and his sister Martha.
I would like Y4 to leave a short review based on the following headings;

I really need to own that book! Its so awesome,My favourite part was the Truth Pixie trying to poison Samuel and Samuel finding out what the Truth Pixie was going to do to him. I'd like to meet Aunt-Eda so I can taste her cheese. I would ask Matt Haig what inspired you to write this book.

Hello Year 4,
ReplyDeleteI must admit I hadn't heard of Matt Haig's "Shadow Forest". I searched the internet for a synopsis (brief statement of content, i.e. telling me what the book's about) and found one. I liked what I read so I came back to this blog to read your reviews. I found them fascinating.
The Truth Pixie seems the most liked character but I was left wondering if it always tells the truth or makes anyone it meet tell the truth. I also wondered about the pixie's poison. Was it deadly or was it more a truth serum?
I noticed favourite part of the story and the questions you would all ask Matt Haig have varied. They were interesting.
Summing up, the synopsis and your comments plus the questions coming to my mind after reading them can only mean one thing. I'll have to see if I can buy or borrow a copy to find out more.

Hello year 4 that looks good. Did you enjoy the book? By Sherralee
ReplyDeleteI've borrowed the book from the Library and I'm up to just a couple of pages before the part where Martha goes missing into the forest. It's a tiny bit boring because we've read it in Class but I still find it interesting.
