Classopoly winners

I am so proud of Year 4, they have tried really hard to improve their attendance.
As a school we try to achieve attendance above 97%.
Our previous week's attendance was above this and their counter landed on Morris Mews.

Science afternoon

I had a brilliant afternoon today working with my amazing scientists. I hope the children will respond using the comment box to let everyone know what they found.

Here are some photos of the learning that took place in class.

Maths this week

Year 4 have been collecting data and showing each other how to represent it. They had a go at drawing their own bar charts, making them using Textease and PurpleMash.

Make your own slideshow with music at Animoto.

Here are the games we played today

Presentation Monday

Here's Tullyanne telling us about her favourite movie Grease. She even had some help from her own Danny and Sandy.

Anti bullying posters

Lots of children came to school on Wednesday with anti bullying posters they had made the evening before.

I am really pleased to see Y4 showing such a mature attitude towards this topic.

Here are the anti bullying posters made at home;

Treat Time

There are lots of different rules to follow in Year 4 and Mrs Warner expects children to have very good behaviour.
In September the children had a discussion about the rewards they could earn for having excellent behaviour and attitude.
The ideas were narrowed down to fit a bingo board Mrs Warner saw online.

Over the last few weeks Year 4 have been earning lots of squares but for different areas of the board.
Amazingly, Joshua randomly selected E2 and as a result, everyone in class will be enjoying games next week.

Anti-bullying week

This week is National Anti-bullying week. We will doing lots of different things including wearing our jeans on Thursday and enjoying dance workshops.

Here are a couple of websites you might like to look at.

Newsround

Childline

Beat bullying with Shaun the sheep

Monday 19th November

After watching "Who's side are you on" from the Newsround website, Year 4 planned and performed some drama and freeze framing.

Mrs Warner read a scenario and the class had to write the ending. It was about a boy called Joe who was being bullied by several other children.

Tuesday 20th November

Have a look at this activity on Purple Mash. If you create a Beat Bullying poster bring it to school.

Mr Booth came to see us

Several weeks ago in Literacy time, Year 4 wrote letters inviting Mr Booth, an Estate Agent from Garforth, into class to tell us about his job.
As part of our theme, Year 4 will be creating brochures to sell houses. We thought the best way to find out how to do this would be to ask someone who does it everyday.

So, after Mrs Warner sent the letters, Mr Booth organised his visit and on Monday afternoon we found out the answers to all our questions.

I would like Year 4 to write in the comment box one of the questions we asked and the answer Mr Booth gave.
