What have you done this week?

Please write about your week.

What have you enjoyed?

Talk homework

Tonight your talk homework is to discuss your favourite author and their books.
Here are some pictures of my favourite authors, do you recognise any of them? Who is your favourite?
What do you like about their books? Is it because they are adventurous, exciting or real life.
Do you like the characters, are they believable or life like?

Golden Children

Well done to Teegan and Joshua this week. They have both displayed first class behaviour and attitude this week.

BIG WRITE Star writer of the week is ......

Olivia

A massive well done to Olivia for writing a really exciting adventure story. She made a plan and followed it to make sure her story had five parts. She had thought carefully about characters, setting and a plot

Do you know what the five parts are?

Here is a game you can play

Have fun!

Presentation Monday

Today was the turn of Alex and Amber to present to the class. They had worked very hard at home and produced art work and a powerpoint presentation!

Their presentation was very interesting and I learned that squirrels can live for between 5 and 7 years.
To find out if the class was listening to their presentation they did a quiz at the end. I won a sticker!!

They both earned 10 table points each for their fantastic effort!

Great work both of you!!!!

A post by Alice - push ups

In circle time we talked about pushups. A pushup for example is "yore a realy nice person Jaimie"

......

You can give a push up here on a new wallwisher

Remember to be kind and honest!!

The Pringle Challenge (transition week)

Can you remember when we received some interesting looking packages from Micklefield Primary School?

What was inside?

Here are some pictures to remind you.

We had a go at designing some unique packaging ourselves.

After we had designed and made the new packaging, we put the crisp inside and they were posted to Micklefield Primary School.

Here we are opening the packages that were sent to us from the children at Micklefield Primary School

To the children of Micklefield, did we achieve what we set out to do?

Did the crisps we sent arrive in perfect condition?

Presentation Monday

On Monday we listened to a presentation all about "The Olden Days" given by Olivia and Elle.
They did a great job telling us facts they had found out and used a book to display illustrations.

Explaining the facts

A captive audience

The girls worked hard during playtimes and at home, to plan what they would say and how they would organise it all.

Well done! It wasn't easy being the first group in the lime light!!

What can you remember from the presentation?
What happened if you broke the law?
How often did people have a bath?

Reply in sentences and remember VCOP!!

BIG Writing

On Friday we had our very first BIG WRITE!
The children came in after a brain break with Mr Walls, to a classroom that was quiet, calm and smelled different too!

The learning target was to write a set of instructions.

I was really pleased with the effort the children put into their work but especially proud of Keira, who is the BIG WRITE STAR OF THE WEEK!!

Can you  remember the key features of writing instructions? Play this game CLICK HERE

Talk homework

In preparation for BIG WRITE tomorrow, I would like you to discuss...

..instructions.

When you buy a new piece of furniture, do you read the instructions to see how to build it?
If you don't know how something works, do you read the instructions or try and work it out using trial and error?

Gold Book

Today was our first "Gold Book" Assembly of the new academic year.

WELL DONE!! Christopher and Maryam, you have a great attitude to learning.

Our first week

This week has been great fun!

The class have decided what the Investors In Pupils target is.

They have to remember;

water bottle,
pumps,
reading book and record.

Each table has been working hard to gain "table points" So far there are 6 toppings on the pizza slice!

Here are some photographs from the week.

Children finding out what everyone did this summer. They had to speak to as many children as possible and at the end make a circle. Children had to complete the circle giving holiday news about the child to the left.

Lots of chatting going on!

In maths we tried some of the puzzles with a partner.

How many triangles can you see?

Where do the counters go?

Two of the games

Placing the cards according to the instructions

It has been a great start to Y4 and I hope the children continue to show just as much enthusiasm throughout the year.
