In literacy we have looking at stories based in an imaginary setting. Here are some photos of the literacy work, Big Write sessions and guided reading.

It was Storytelling week last week and we had fun sitting around the campfire making up stories.

Talk homework

Tonight I'd like you to talk about how the author uses description to give the reader information about a character's appearance, feelings and actions.

Think about Lenny in The Lion and the Unicorn, why did the author choose to use the words she did?
What could she have used instead?

Think about David in Friend or Foe, what picture did the author create when Mum woke him up the morning of the evacuation?

Think about Traditional Tales, how are the characters portrayed?
