Looking at maps

As part of our "Village in India" topic we have been looking at the information contained in maps.

A map of Chembakolli

First, we played a memory game. Each team came to the front to have a good look at the map and then had to return to the table.  They had to write down information they had gathered.

Everyone added colour to the tea, coffee and rice crop. What other features can be seen on the map?

Next time we are going to find out if children go to school and if they do, what they learn.

Write back and tell me what you have learned so far.

Presentation Monday

Today we listened to Sophie, Sade and Sarah tell us all about one of my favourite authors.

We listened to some facts about the author, had a look at some of his stories and some photographs of him.

If you want to find out more click the picture above and it will take you to Roald Dahl's website.

Big Write star writer is...

William

Well done William, you are our first Big Write Star!

William produced a super recount of a birthday party, he included some time connectives and exciting vocabulary to describe the food he enjoyed.

Here is a game to try, see if you can use your new knowledge to complete the activity.

There is also a quiz to try too. Play it here and let me know how you get on.
