Spelling contract wb 10th September

I am so pleased and impressed with the way so many Y4's have tackled the very first "spelling contract"

The spellings were given on Monday and over the week children have had chance to complete their chosen activities. The activities must add up to 30 points.

Here are examples of some of the brilliant work.

Which activity did you do? Will you do the same ones next week?

  3. Hello Year 4,

I was impressed with the quality of your work. I see you must gain at least 30 points out of a possible 200 so this allows you to choose activities. I know when I was in Year 4 many years ago we didn't have any choices. We simply were told what exercise to complete in our text books. Your spelling contract allows so much more flexibility.

I wondered what activities I might choose if I was aiming at 30 points. I think I would choose activities 1, 15 and 20. These would reflect my love of writing and the correct use of words. I always have a dictionary nearby when I am writing. :)

I was wondering, did anyone attempt to complete every activity? That would take a great deal of time but it would be an achievement.

    1. Just do a little bit in your spelling book Jessica, I don't expect you to do lots this week.
