Today was the turn of Elle and Jamie to tell us all about music.

Welcome to our presentation

Using the picking sticks to choose children to answer questions

All children received a pencil for their excellent listening skills

Can you remember who this famous school girl is?

Playing the guitar
Well done to both of you, I especially enjoyed your singing and guitar playing.

Egyptian Art part 2

Year 4 continued with their art work this afternoon, even Pharaoh Elle was hard at work.

PHSE - Emotions

This afternoon Y4 talked about emotions and how they can influence the way we learn.
Using an emotion wheel, the children thought about the barriers they sometimes face.

There were some emotions Y4 had not heard before, so we discussed the meaning and times when we might feel this way.

Can you remember some new emotions and their definition?

Here is a drag and drop game you can play. You have to match the emotion to the photo.
Let me know how you get on, it's not as easy as you might first think.

A snowy weekend

I hope you are having a great time this weekend, maybe having some sledging fun or making a snowman.

Here is a picture of my snowy back garden.
I wonder who has made the footprints?

Can you take a picture of your garden and bring it to school tomorrow? We could compare the snowfall in different areas.

Have fun!

Pupil questionnaire

This morning the children completed a questionnaire from Fieldhead Carr Student Council.
They had to answer questions about school, learning, classrooms, attendance and lunchtimes.

Here are our Y4 Representatives explaining the questionnaire to the class.

Forensic Science Fun

This morning we went into the hall and found 5 dead bodies!

We had to use our investigating skills to find evidence about the skeleton in front of us.

Looking at our unique fingerprints

Each shoe print is different too

Evidence

Looking closely

A letter, can you see the phone number?

Can you remember how we can use the skeleton to tell the gender of the deceased?

I could tell you all really enjoyed the session. Write back giving your opinions.

Fractions and a maths game

To help us understand fractions we used numicon again yesterday in maths. What can you remember?

What did we find out?
Think about our investigation to find out if half was more or less than 2 quarters. Was this always the case?

Here is the game we played in the ICT suite
