Mr Walls the Mad Scientist
This afternoon Y4 had lots of fun watching some demonstrations and discussing what was happening and why. Mr Walls found his amazing ideas from Science Kids

It looks like you all had a very interesting afternoon.
Write back and tell me what happened during the experiments. Did everything go as Mr Walls expected?
If not, why do you think that was?

Adverts
Year 4 have started a new unit of work in Literacy. This week we are looking at printed adverts and tomorrow they are going to design an advertisement for a new toy but first they had to look at what makes an effective advert.
Who is the advert aimed at?
Is it effective? How?
What language features are used? Are there any slogans?
Later on in the day, we enjoyed reading Willy the Wimp by Anthony Browne and noticed an advertisement in there. Willy found it in the comic he was reading.
Don't forget to bring some adverts in from home.
