Smartie Fractions

This morning the children applied their skills and knowedge of fractions using smarties.


Mr Walls delivered the session so can you write comments about your learning?

Here Y4 are busy finding fractions.

  14. Can you explain why you sorted them into colours and how you found the fraction? What did you do next?

    Remember I wasn't there, so I don't know how to do it.

  15. Hello Year 4,

    Fractions can be hard to deal with unless we have something with which to test out ideas. A major bonus in this lesson is, once the lesson is over, you get to eat the resources. :)

    Smarties have always been a favourite of mine as well.

  16. I absolutely hated fractions when I was at school. I really didn't understand them, and couldn't see the point. BUT - if my teacher had explained them using Smarties then I might have understood them better. You lucky bunch!

  17. Wow those smartie fractions look great! especially when you get to eat them! Class One use the malteser method to partition numbers and they loved eating the maltesers!
